Programming HomeLink®: a Step-by-Step Guide
Need help programming the HomeLink® system in Coos Bay? This simple task can be completed in just four easy steps. Learn more with the team at Clint Newell Chevrolet, GMC, below!

- Your HomeLink® unit is equipped with three buttons that are typically found on the ceiling of your Chevy, just above the center console by your rearview mirror. To get started, press and hold the first and third buttons simultaneously until your car’s interior lights start flashing (this can take up to 20 seconds). Note: Pressing the first and third buttons also acts as the master reset, so you will not need to repeat this step when connecting your second and third devices in the future.
- Once your ceiling lights have begun to flash, press and hold the HomeLink® button you wish to program while also holding down the open/close button on your garage door opener remote. Your interior lights should switch from a slow to rapid flash, telling you that the programming is complete.
- Go into your garage and press the “learn” button on the main garage door opener. (The location may vary across systems, but is most often found near the unit’s antenna.
- Step back into your vehicle and press the newly programmed HomeLink® button for at least two seconds. The lights on your garage door opener unit may flash, indicating that it is connecting.

What is Good Mileage On a Used Car?

Used car shopping in Eugene? There’s more to consider than physical and mechanical condition – you should also check the mileage. Many shoppers think they should automatically stray from a used vehicle with over 100,000 miles on the odometer, but this isn’t always true. If the vehicle was well-maintained throughout its lifetime, 100,000 miles can certainly be considered good mileage for a used car. Some important factors to take into account when you’re shopping for pre-owned vehicles in Roseburg are: condition, usage, and location. Learn more about what is good mileage for a used car in our comprehensive guide!
The Smart Way to Shop for a Used Car
It’s certainly a smart idea to check out the mileage when shopping for a used car, but don’t forget to also inquire about the following factors:
- Usage – 75,000 miles in stop and go traffic will put significantly more wear on a vehicle than 75,000 miles on open highways with infrequent stops. Before finalizing a purchase, be sure to inquire about the prior owner’s driving history.
- Location – Find out where your prospective vehicle “lived” before making its way to your area. If it came from the warm, dry climate of Southern California, it will have fared better than if it came from a cold, wet climate.
- Condition – If you’re working with a private seller, you should always have a trusted mechanic inspect the vehicle before buying it, even if the seller promises there are no issues. A certified mechanic can tell you if they uncover any problems that need to be dealt with, and you can figure the cost into your budget.
- Maintenance – Did the previous owner follow a regular maintenance schedule? You should ensure the vehicle is up-to-date, as an irregular service history can lead to costly issues in the near future.
Mileage vs. Age
A newer car with high mileage may well be a better choice than a low-mileage older car. Make sure to take these factors into account when buying:
- A car that didn’t see very much action in Cottage Grove will likely come with higher repair costs than a vehicle that was driven regularly, as mechanical issues and problems with rubber seals and gaskets can arise when a car sits for long periods of time.
- A clearly-documented maintenance history is always preferable to a spotty history.
- Low mileage vehicles often come with a higher price tag.
If low mileage is a top concern for you and you prefer to be in a newer model with all the latest technologies, a certified pre-owned model can provide the best of both worlds.

What Are In-House Financing Car Dealers?

In-house financing car dealers provide financing through the dealership where your payments will be made, rather than working with and making payments to a bank. Lender approval is still a requirement, but in-house financing often gives Eugene shoppers a better shot at being approved. Learn more about the details of in-house financing before applying to pre-qualify with Clint Newell Chevrolet, GMC.
Benefits of In-House Financing Cars
In addition to potentially saving you a decent amount of money when all is said and done and getting you into your new vehicle quicker than usual, there are a number of other benefits you’ll enjoy with in-house financing car dealers:
- Flexible interest rates
- Higher credit score
- Easier pre-approval
- Extended warranties
No matter if you’re working on raising your credit score or you’d like to extend your vehicle’s original warranty, applying for in-house financing with a dealership like Clint Newell Chevrolet, GMC can help. After you submit an application, you’ll be hitting Cottage Grove roads in your dream vehicle in no time!
Be Aware of These Warning Signs
As you search for in-house financing car dealers near me, there are some things you should watch out for so you don’t end up in the middle of a scam. There are plenty of in-house financing car lots near Sutherlin, and if any of them present the following red flags, you may want to reconsider:
- You’re allowed to leave the lot before officially agreeing on a payment term
- “Approved” vs. “approval” – if the dealership is manufacturer-approved, they’re fully approved and will have higher standards to uphold. The same can’t always be said for the latter.
- The dealership doesn’t report to an official credit bureau
- You receive a phone call telling you that your financing plan fell through and you’ll need to provide additional funds, or you’re given a higher interest rate than before
